Marie Mae

Marie Mae is a pen name created by my thirteen year old daughter. I love to write and have written several children's books for my family. I am an avid reader and am interested in How- to  and self improvement literature. Many of my peers and family members tease me about knowing a little bit about everything. So I hope to share my knowledge and experiences with others on Hubpage.  I also hope to learn from viewer responses and other hubs.

I am a nurse and have an A.S. degree from Mohawk Valley Community College. I have a B.S.degree in Human Developement from Empire State College. Course work in Bio-Chemistry at Utica College and graduate work in Childhood Education at Touro College.

I have owned and operated my own Family Day Care Facility in Upstate NY for twelve years.

I Have Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and am an active volunteer/instructor for The Arthritis Foundation of Upstate NY. I often teach Tai Chi, exercise, pain management and aquatics.

In the past 8 years, I have held various offices in our local PTA, coached girls soccer for AYSO, volunteered as a back stage mom, makeup person and costume friend for the Mohawk Valley Ballet and am a Girl Scout leader.

I also love photography and have enjoyed many years of novice fun. I hope to be able to use some original work on my hubs.
